SHILLONG, Aug 25 - The ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee were today immersed in the Umshyrpi river. The urn containing the ashes was received by Meghalaya BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh here on Thursday.
A prayer meeting was held at the BJP office here yesterday with religious heads from different faiths attending it. Senior State leaders also paid homage to the former Prime Minister.
The urn was today carried in a rally from the party office with senior leaders, including the BJP�s national spokesperson and in-charge of Meghalaya, Nalin Kohli, joining the procession to the Umshyrpi for the immersion ceremony.
