SHILLONG, Aug 2 - University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) in association with ERD Foundation, Guwahati has felicitated all the 40 rank holders of SSLC 2018 under MBoSE here today, a press release said.
The awards were handed over by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma along with Dr DD Lapang, former CM of Meghalaya, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and others. The successful students were honoured with laptops, mementos and other rewards.
Delivering the awards to the toppers, the Chief Minister said, �Involvement of university in research in the highest level is very important.� Thanking Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque and the entire USTM team for its gesture of honouring the rank holders, he said that institutions like USTM have a big role to play in research in climate change and GST which will further contribute to policy making. �In Meghalaya, we are ready to complete the formulation of our education policy for the first time�, he added.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering, Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of USTM said that USTM is committed to the development of science and technology education and research in the region. He also announced that USTM is offering free education to all the toppers of MBoSE after they pass higher secondary.
