GUWAHATI, Oct 26 - An exclusive interactive session with Patricia Hoffman, Consul General of the USA in Kolkata for east and north-east India, was organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) here today.
Hoffman assumed office in August this year and she expressed happiness for her first visit to the north-east.
�Hoffman with a team of minister-counsellor and political affairs specialist interacted with some selected industrialists from the north-east in the field of hospitality, healthcare, education, handloom and handicraft, construction, tourism, equipment, etc. to understand the present scenario of business and development in the region,� said an ICC spokesperson.
As discussed, American companies are excited to work closely with their Indian counterparts. The USA is proactively working to bridge of the gap of development between the north-east and the rest of India, she added.
