US varsity teacher speaks at GU prog

JALUKBARI, Nov 6 - A lecture programme was organised on Friday at the Department of Zoology, Gauhati University.

Prof Basantha Padmanavan, Department of Paediatric Endocrinology, University of Michigan, USA, delivered the lecture titled �Developmental Programming of Reproductive Functions.�

The lecture was attended by a large number of faculty members, research scholars, postgraduate students of Gauhati University as well as many students from colleges in Guwahati city.

Prof Padmanavan later actively interacted with the students and researchers and advised the students to work hard and plan for their future careers in research, which has a direct relation to human welfare and health and environment issues.

Prof Jatin Kalita, head of the Department of Zoology and dean of Faculty of Science, GU, welcomed the guests. Prof Jogen Chandra Kalita, coordinator of the GU wing for International Relations, talked about the importance of such interactive sessions for developing collaboration.
