Upper Assam�s first Aviation, Hospitality institute opened

DIBRUGARH, May 15 - One of the premier educational establishments of Upper Assam, the Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi (DHSK) College, which is close to mark its platinum jubilee year, has added another discipline of study by setting up the region�s first Aviation and Hospitality institute within its campus.

The college in collaboration with RB Aviation Academy is seeking to provide training in Aviation and Hospitality Management to the youths of the region. The RB Aviation Academy will also facilitate 100% placement for the students on completion of their courses, according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between DHSK College and RB Aviation Academy. The main curriculum of the institute includes Certificate and Diploma courses in the sector of Aviation and Hospitality Management and also Spoken English course of three-month duration.

Dr. Sashi Kanta Saikia, Principal of the college said at the inauguration that the college in collaboration with RB Aviation Academy is fulfilling a great need of the region particularly in the aviation and hospitality sector. �Students of the region seeking to build their careers in Airlines, Hotel and other Hospitality sectors can undergo courses at the institute. They do not have to go to far off cities to pursue their dreams in these sectors,� said the principal.

On behalf of the institute, its managing director Sanjeev A Bora said that this was for the first time in Upper Assam for the Academy to be associated with a renowned educational establishment like DHSK College to train youths in the sector of Aviation and Hospitality.

The new discipline of study, which was inaugurated on May 12, was attended by college teachers unit secretary Dr Dipankaj Gogoi, along with the governing body member and also the HoD of Political Science Titus Bhengra and other staff and faculties of the both the establishments.
