Unruly scene in stadium

GUWAHATI, Aug 22 � After the ASEB-Sunrise match of the GSA Super Division Football Championship, an unruly scene occurred in the Nehru Stadium today.

Immediately after the match, a group of Sunrise AC players argued with the referee for some points during the game. But suddenly a player from the ASEB substitute bench rushed to into the ground and tried to manhandle opponent players. A free for all situation occurred among the players. However, ASEB coach Ganesh Rai and Sunrise official Gautam Das played a vital role to control the situation due to which players finally cooled down.

The angry Sunrise supporters tried to enter the ground but they were the blocked by the organisers. Although the GSA officials tried to control the situation it was out of their hand. Today security personnel were also not visible in the stadium. The organisers had no other way but to detain the ASEB players and team officials inside the stadium and call up security personnel. They had to wait for atleast half an hour in the stadium and finally when police came they were escorted to their camp.
