Union Minister for Industries visits Manipur

IMPHAL, Sept 14 - Union Minister of State for Food Processing and Industries Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti made her maiden visit to Manipur today oversee the Food Park at Nilakuthi near here.

During her six-hour sojourn in the State capital, the Union Minister called on the State Governor Dr Syed Ahmed at the Raj Bhawan. Later, the visiting Minister held a meeting with State officials at the Secretariat Hall here.

After meeting the officials, Jyoti addressed a press conference at the BJP Manipur Pradesh office to highlight the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency) Yojana which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently in New Delhi.

She informed that a novel loan scheme under the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre aims at �funding the unfunded� was launched which requires no guarantors or property documents to avail it.

She added that it is to support those who want to establish small business to boost the small entrepreneurs in the country, in which loan can be availed under three categories, i.e., for an amount in between Rs 5000-Rs 50,000; Rs 50,000-Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh-Rs 10 lakh.

The Union Minister also said that 30 training centres will be established across 12 regions of the country to facilitate the skills to employ the unemployed youths and women.

She stated that her Ministry has mooted to establish a cold storage system to avoid wastage of vegetables and a �Mega Food Park� in Manipur for which the Centre would extend required support.
