By A Correspondent

KOHORA, Feb 25 In view of the continuous killing of rhinos by poachers in Kaziranga National Park four had already been killed since January 2010, an unified combat team has been formed consisting of personnel from BSF, Police, Forest and representatives of the district administration. This was revealed by the Chief Conservator of Forest (Vigilance), BB Dhar.

Talking to this correspondent here at Forest IB, CCF (V), Dhar informed that the security system inside the Park has been strengthened. From now onwards, BSF along with Forest and Police personnel would be involved to check the poaching of rhinos. If any gun shot is heard inside the Park, matter shall have to be intimated to PCCF, Assam and other officials from the spot itself without any delay so that appropriate action can be taken at the right time before the poachers can escape. Dogs squad will be pressed into services to find out some leads of poachers, CCF Dhar said. Sources said that PCCF and head of Forest Forces BK Bishnoi, who was also present at the meeting held at Forest IB today was very much concerned about the incidences of rhino poaching and cautioned his officers that no such incident be allowed to happen again.
