ITANAGAR, Sept 22 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will provide necessary support to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for implementation of the Arunachal Vision 2030 and the Chief Ministers Mission on Skill Development and Employment Generation in Arunachal Pradesh. This assurance was given by the Country Head of UNDP India, Dr Jaco Cilliers when Arunachal Chief Minister Nabam Tuki met him in New Delhi today.

Dr Cilliers, while lauding the initiatives of the State Government, expressed the willingness of his organisation to support the Himalayan State in these two programmes.

Dr Ruchi Pant, programme analyst of UNDP India, who was also present, offered to explore other areas of collaboration with the State Government, including disaster management, medicinal plants, eco-tourism development, bio-diversity conservation, among others.

Tuki, while outlining the priorities of his Government, suggested that multi-lateral agencies like UNDP should work hand in hand with the State and focus in long term collaborations in improving the livelihoods of the people in a sustainable manner.

A team from UNDP India will visit Arunachal Pradesh next month and finalise the modalities of collaboration after discussion with senior officials of the State Government, it was stated in an official release here.
