GUWAHATI, July 5 � The United Peoples Liberation Army (UPLA) suffered a setback as a senior cadre was killed in an operation by a joint team of Army and Police in Hamren last night.
An Army release said that acting on a tip-off, a joint operation was launched , which led to the killing of self-styled Sgt Major Robendro Ronghang, while two others managed to escape.
A US-made 9 mm pistol, a Chinese grenade and incriminating documents were recovered from the possession of the slain militant.
