IMPHAL, Feb 25 � A militant of the Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council (KCP-MC) was arrested from Khunfrakpak Awang Leikai in Imphal East district of Manipur, official sources said today.
Police commandos were frisking at Khundrakpam area when two militants were spotted on a two-wheeler. The militants tried to run away and even fired towards the police personnel, they said.
The security personnel retaliated, and after a militant was hit by a bullet, he was arrested. The other militant, however, escaped with the motorcycle.
The injured militant has been identified as N Premananda (27) of Sambei. He has been admitted to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science Hospital, sources said. � PTI
