ULFA team leaves for Delhi

GUWAHATI, Aug 4 � Top leaders of the banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) left for New Delhi this afternoon to present the initial draft of their charter of demands to the Union Government.

Led by its chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa, the outfit is scheduled to sit for talks with the officials of the Union Home Ministry tomorrow.

Minutes before boarding the flight, Rajkhowa said the initial draft prepared on the basis of suggestions made by the Sanmilita Jatiya Abhibartan, a civil society group, would be handed over to the Ministry tomorrow and the final draft would be prepared after consultation with the people of Assam.

Besides Rajkhowa, the delegation include �deputy commander-in-chief� Raju Baruah, �vice president� Pradeep Gogoi, publicity secretary Mithinga Daimary, foreign secretary Sashadhar Choudhury, finance secretary Chitraban Hazarika and cultural secretary Pranati Phukan.
