JORHAT, May 7 � The Chief Executive Member of the Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council (TKAC) received a letter from anti-talk ULFA written on the organization�s pad demanding Rs 10 lakh on April 27. The deadline given in the letter to hand over the amount to the outfit was over yesterday. The member also received phone calls from a telephone number demanding the same.
A case has been registered at Titabor Police Station in this regard and investigation is on. According to a police source the telephone call was from a place near the Assam-Nagaland border. The source further said that it was quite uncertain from which post office the letter was posted as the stamp on it was quite illegible.
