GUWAHATI, June 20 - Three Assam players-Udit Gogoi, Kristi Boro and Raina Zaffar marched into the quarterfinal stage of the ongoing AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament for boys and girls U-16 and 18.
On the second day of the championship, organised by the All Assam Tennis Association at its own campus in Chachal here today, 8th seed Udit Gogoi defeated his State mate Kritanta Sarma 6-1, 6-0 in the boys U-18 category while 6th seed Lenien Jamir got the better of West Bengal�s Shreya Chakraborty 7-6(4), 6-1 in the girls U-18 group. Kristi Boro upset 6th seed Lakshmi SS Gotipatti of Karnataka 6-2, 6-0. All the quarterfinal matches of the singles events will be played tomorrow which will be followed by the doubles quarterfinals and semifinals.
