He raised a hue and cry hearing which, the local people gathered and first helped him get out of the tank . Later, Kharupetia police with the help of members of the local fire and emergency service rescued both the workers in a critical condition and rushed them to the Kharupetia Primary Health Centre and then to the Mangaldai Civil Hospital where they were declared dead. The reason of their deaths will be ascertained only after the post mortem report comes, but doctors suspect it to be a case of heart failure due to acute shortage in supply of oxygen.
