Two UK returnees shifted to JMCH

DERGAON, Dec 28 - Two persons, who had returned from London (UK), tested Covid-19 positive and were shifted to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) on Monday. The new positive cases have created sensation in the district since the pandemic situation had improved considerably here.

According to information the husband and wife duo came from London to their paternal house on December 12. Though they tested negative through RTPCR in London, yet they tested positive at Golaghat on Saturday.

Meanwhile, after detection of four new positive cases, the number of active positive cases has increased to 21 in Golaghat district as on Monday.

With this the cumulative cases in the district has increased to 9158, out of which 9137 have been discharged and 98 persons found positive have died so far. Among the dead, 59 have been declared as Covid death while 39 were declared as non-Covid death so far.

DIPRO Papu Gogoi said that among the new positive cases, 3 were found through RT-PCR and one from RAT.
