Two receive award on disability day

GUWAHATI, Dec 9 - Two persons from Assam, Jintu Sarma and Supriya Shudha Khound received the National Award for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, 2015 under the categories of �Best Employee (All India level) of the Government of India� and �Outstanding Creative Persons with Disabilities� respectively from the Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley at Vigyan Bhavan on December 3 on the occasion of the International Day for Persons with Disability. This was stated in a press release.

Jintu Sarma is the son of Jatindra Nath Sarma and Basanti Devi of Kaithalkuchi village of Nalbari district and is an employee of the Tezpur Central University in the Department of Environmental Science.

Supriya Shudha Khound is the daughter of Dulu Kr Khound, of Majuli Bhakati duar in Jorhat district and is now a resident of Rupkowar Path, Hengarabari, Guwahati.
