TURA, Sept 25 - The trend of kidnappings continued in South Garo Hills with two more persons abducted by unidentified miscreants while they were going from Rongara town to Baghmara in South Garo Hills district on Thursday.
The incident took place at about 8 am yesterday when the duo were travelling in a commercial vehicle. The vehicle was stopped near the Panda Reserve and the two taken at gun point by the group. The whereabouts of the kidnapped duo is still unknown.
Sources identified the duo as Kamal Saha, a cloth merchant and Vikash Kr Singh, a government employee.
A massive search and rescue operation was launched immediately after news of the kidnapping reached the police though till the time of reporting no headway has been made in the rescue efforts.
