Two held in robbery case

JORABAT, Sept 9 - Two persons, Sariful Hoque and Hemanta Talukdar, were arrested by Jorabat Police and Crime Branch of Assam Police in the wee hours today in connection with a recent robbery at a petrol depot at Jorabat. They were nabbed in Ghograpara village in Nalbari district, police said.

The arrested criminals were part of a gang of eight that had looted Rs 19,91,500 from two employees of NRL Jorabat, namely Govind Shetty (manager) and Omprakash Maheshwar (assistant manager) while they were on their way to SBI Jorabat to deposit two days� sale proceeds of the petrol pump, on August 24. The other six are absconding.
