The woman was there with Pathak on the night of his demise. The woman was a close acquaintance of the deceased.

SSP (City) AP Tiwari told mediapersons that two persons have been arrested in this connection and a laptop and a gold chain belonging to the deceased were recovered.

The reports suggest that he died due to cardiac arrest. We are trying to find out whether it was a natural attack or was effected by any dose of medicine, Tiwari said.

The arrested persons are Utpal Boro and Pranjit Das.

While Boro was arrested on September 29, police picked up Pranjit the day before, the SSP said.

Tiwari also informed that an amount of Rs 1.25 lakh was also transferred to Pranjits account from Manikuts bank account, which is being realised.

We are not disclosing the name of the mastermind in the interest of the investigation. Very soon, things will be clear, he added.
