Two girls bring honour for Dhubri

DHUBRI, June 26 - Abanti Roy, a student from BN College, secured the 7th position, and Krishna Bala Das, a student from Boterhat HS School, secured the 10th position in the Arts stream of the HS examination.

Abanti, the second daughter of retired bank employee Biman Roy and Ujjala Roy, and a resident of RK Mission Road, Dhubri, scored a total of 469 marks. She scored 97 in English, 90 in Alternative English, 92 in Logic and Philosophy, 94 in Economics and 96 in Political Science.

Talking to this correspondent, Abanti said she wishes to complete her graduation from BN College with honours in Political Science and will prepare for the civil services examinations.

Krishna Bala Das scored 466 marks in the exam. Although Krishna is a student of Boterhat HS School, she appeared from Halakura HS School as her centre. A resident of Koimari Part-V village, she is the daughter of Pobitro Das and Archana Das. Her father works in a textile company in West Bengal as a weaver.

Himangshu Sekhar Das from Sishupathsala HS School, Dhubri scored 99 in Physics to become the topper in the subject in the state. Dhubri district had a pass percentage of 58.39 in the Arts stream, 81.33 in the Science stream and 83.82 in the Commerce stream.
