TURA, Sept 13 - Two more residents of Mankachar in Assam were kidnapped at gun point by unidentified miscreants from Chandagre village near Chokpot in South Garo Hills at about 6 am yesterday.
The two truck drivers have been identified as Akidul Islam (25) and Bilu Miah (23), both residents of Kuchnimara under Mankachar PS.
According to the FIR lodged in the Chokpot PS, the two had gone to Chokpot from Mankachar when they were stopped at gun point and forcefully taken away by the armed men.
Meanwhile, villagers of Tebolpara under Mankachar PS severely beat up one Akkas Ali on suspicion he was working with militants from Garo Hills. He is reported to be in a very serious condition in the Hatsingimari Civil Hosptal where he is undergoing treatment.
