JALUKBARI, Oct 9 - Two persons, who were arrested last night for their involvement in an ATM theft, were sent to 14-day judicial custody.
�Niren Saharia (25) and Ramen Deka (25), who were former employees of Radisson Blu hotel, on September 4 tried to break open a SBI ATM installed on the hotel premises but managed to loot only a Rs 500 note from the ATM. However, the duo fled the scene fearing that they could get caught,� said Jalukbari Police Outpost in-charge AP Deuri, adding, �based on the complaint, the Jalukbari police checked the CCTV footage the next day and managed to apprehend the duo.�
The police also managed to recover an iron rod, some clothes used during the crime, from a house at Gotanagar today, said Deuri. The accused persons have been booked under 1206/18 of IPC 380, 427 and 457.
