KOKRAJHAR, Sept 3 � On the basis of an FIR lodged by the OC Kokrajhar, Kokrajhar Police last night arrested Jaikholong Brahma, a local TV journalist from Kokrajhar Town.
He has been arrested for allegedly inciting the banned outfit NDFB(S) to commit violence in the last few months as per Kokrajhar Police Station vide case number 376/2014, U/S, 120(B)/121/121(A)/122/109 IPC, R/W Sec. 10 (A)/ 13 (B)/18 UAP (Amendment) Act 2008.
Kokrajhar police last night also seized a laptop, a CPU, two mobile handsets from the house of Jaikholong Brahma.
The arrested journalist has been produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court here today, which sent the accused journalist to five days� police remand.
Meanwhile, the Kokrajhar Press Club has strongly condemned the arrest and protested it by wearing black cloth on their face.
