Tunisian film fest in Imphal on May 25-26

IMPHAL, May 15 - Six contemporary award-winning feature films from Tunisia will be screened at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) Auditorium here on May 25 and 26, the Film Society of Manipur (FSM) said.

The two-day Tunisian Film Festival is being jointly organised by the Federation of Film Societies of India and the FSM with the support of the Tunisian Embassy in New Delhi and the MSFDS.

The films to be screened on the first day include Porto Farina (director: Ibrahim Letaief), Mostafa (director: Nidhal Chatt), and Shattered Waves (director: Habib Nestiri).

The films to be screened on the last day include Whispering Sands (director: Nacer Khmir), Visit (director: Nawfel Saheb Ettabaa), and Sweet Smell of Spring (director: Ferid Boughedir). All the films have English subtitles.

The Federation of Film Societies of India is organising the Tunisian Film Festival at different cities of the country like Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Imphal, Guwahati, Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pondicherry, Madurai, Thiruvanathapuram, Kochi, Thrissur and some other places to propagate the film culture of Tunisia.
