By Correspondent

ITANAGAR, Sept 11 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has appealed to the Centre to provide railway connectivity to Deomali in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh from the nearest railhead either at Naharkatia or Margherita in Assam.

In an official communique to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, the Chief Minister asserted that in order to fully exploit the socio-economic potential of the easternmost parts of Arunachal Pradesh especially Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts, it is necessary to extend the railway services in a phased manner.

Tuki emphasised that developing rail connectivity would help in achieving the objectives of easy movement of people as well as help in furthering growth and opportunities in the insurgency-affected districts.
