In a brief function held at the State Banquet Hall here this afternoon, the Chief Minister administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed Parliamentary Secretaries, all ruling party MLAs, after the Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi read out the letters of appointment.

Significantly, the appointees included two women legislators Karya Bagang and Gum Tayeng in the 60-member House.

Three of the 18 Parliamentary Secretaries are new faces. They are: Mama Natung (Seppa West), Mutchu Mithi (Roing) and Tatung Jamoh (Pasighat West). The two-time MLAs Techi Kaso from Itanagar and Gum Tayeng from Dambuk were, for the first time, appointed as Parliamentary Secretaries.
