IMPHAL, Jan 10 � Manipur club-TRUGPU Nambol defeated ARC (Assam Regimental Centre) Shillong 2-1 in the first semifinal of the ongoing 58th Sir Churachand Singh, KCSI, CBE memorial football tournament here today.
TRUGPU striker Kh Jackey netted the first goal in the 7th minute but L Robert Meetei of ARC equalized in the 26 minute. However, Ch Anand Kumar fired the match winner in the 72nd minute for TRUGPU.
TRUGPU will be meeting the winning team of second semifinal match between MPSC (Manipur Police Sports Club) and TRAU (Tiddim Road Athletic Union) for the final on January 14.
