Tripura�s economy improving: CM

AGARTALA, Dec 1 - Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today said that state�s economy is now on a path of growth as it has been able to generate funds.

�Against all odds, Tripura is sailing through a tangible growth, which is a good sign,� he said. In this context, he said that the overall tax collection, which was only 8.9 per cent , but the BJP-IPFT government has increased the figure.

On financial health of the State, the Chief Minister said, �Before implementation of 7th CPC, the state used to spend Rs. 433 crore per month for salary and pension of the employees. Now, the amount has increased to around Rs 780 crore per month.�

He also claimed that the people of the State have witnessed growth in all spheres. �We are taking a slew of measures to bring in development in the State,� the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister also sought cooperation from the people to carry forward more developmental works in the State. The Chief Minister said that state government is initiating a discussion to set up a big hospital.
