Tripura varsity to introduce new courses

AGARTALA, Aug 14 - Tripura University is all set to introduce two new courses from next academic session, sources said here.

The four courses which are scheduled to be introduced include Ancient Archaeology and Indian Culture and Tourism Administration. The varsity is also opening a School of Udarkala and Centre for Policy Study.

The varsity authority will also ensure placement for successful students of these courses, said an official. Each discipline will have twenty students and the selection will be based on entrance test.

The varsity also plans to introduce two more courses � Nano-Technology and Bio-Technology during the upcoming academic session. Besides, Dean�s Committee has cleared a plan to upgrade distance learning centre in the varsity.

Sources said, the varsity authority has further decided to focus on various State-based subjects. Research works on Unakoti, Devotamura, personality development and corporate communication would be carried out in the days to come.
