Tripura to ink pact with Tata Trusts

AGARTALA, July 8 � Tripura Government and Tata Trusts will sign an agreement for undertaking various programmes in sectors such as education, health and farming, among others.

State Chief Secretary YP Singh said a delegation of representatives of Tata Trusts led by Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata would pay a day�s visit here tomorrow and sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government.

The initiative aims to implement interventions in thematic areas of dairy development, fisheries, skill development, education, nutrition and health for improvement in the quality of life of the people.

The agreement would provide higher technological know-how to two Industrial Training Institutes in West Tripura and Dhalai districts, set up a dairy farm at Ambassa and augment fish production in the State, Singh said.

The State Government will facilitate support to the Trusts by funding various activities through its schemes in various sectors. � PTI
