AGARTALA, Aug 8 - In a bid to boost the education system in Tripura, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar today gave an assurance to establish four BEd colleges in the State soon.
The assurance came when Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb met the Union minister and discussed various issues related to the education system.
Besides, two more Kendriya Vidyalayas will be set up at Dharmanagar in North Tripura district and Udaipur in Gomati district during the forthcoming academic session, Javdekar told the Chief Minister, according to an official release from the Chief Minister�s Office here.
Earlier, the Centre sanctioned a proposal to set up two more Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. This came up for discussion at a review meeting of the Education Department held recently. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
In the meeting, it was decided that a Regional Institute of Education (RIE) would be set up at Mohanpur subdivision in West Tripura district where teachers could get training, degree and research facilities.
