AGARTALA, Dec 9 - Six Congress turned Trinamool Congress MLAs, who had joined BJP in November, have been recognised as BJP legislators, according to an official communique.
This has ensured BJP�s official entry into the State Assembly at a time when the State is gearing up for the 2018 Assembly elections.
�I have gone through the petition jointly signed by six MLAs � Sudip Roy Barman, Dilip Sarkar, DC Hrangkhawl, Asish Saha, Pranajit Singha and Biswa Bandhu Sen claiming to declare them�as members of the Assembly belonging to BJP�, said Speaker Ramendra Chandra Debnath in an official order.
�After observing all formalities and having considered the petition of the members as per the provisions laid down under 10th Schedule to the Constitution of India, I have come to the conclusion that the members have diassociated from Trinamool Congress and voluntarily joined BJP�, he said.
�They have joined BJP in compliance with the Constitution and the said members are entiled to get benefit and exclusion of the disqualification provision under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution�, he said.
