AGARTALA, Aug 7 � The Left Front in Tripura suffered a jolt ahead of the 2013 Assembly elections with its MLA Partha Das�s SC certificate cancelled.
Based on a series of hearings, the State Level SC Scrutiny Committee (SLSC) headed by the Commissioner of SC Welfare department has cancelled the SC certificate of the RSP MLA. The government has already issued a notification effecting the cancellation of the forged SC certificate.
The hearing of the case took a dramatic turn when Nakul Das on behalf of Tripura Tapasili Jati Surakhsa Samity (TTJSS) placed a bunch of evidences against the SC certificate procured by the RSP MLA.
During the hearing, Das pointed out that father of the RSP MLA Paresh Das (late) had got job in Postal department in general category. Besides, Partha Das had taken admission in Pallimangal School at Khayerpur as general student as was mentioned in the admission form. Copies of DM report and AMC SC sub committee report which had also disapproved of the MLA�s claim were also placed before the SLSC chairman Shantanu Das on July 30.
Though the SLSC had given a hearing on the sensitive issue, it did not pass judgment on the day of the last hearing. However, on July 31, the SLSC cancelled the SC certificate of the RSP legislator.
The TTJSS, in a press release today demanded legal action against the RSP MLA for enjoying the facilities available for only SC people. It also hammered the Left Front Government for lingering the issue.
Terming the cancellation of SC certificate of the RSP MLA as victory of the people, the Samity called upon the people to give a befitting reply to the Left Front Government for giving undue privilege to Partha Das.
When his attention was drawn about Partha Das, the chairman of SLSC on Tuesday said, �Being the head of the screening committee I can�t divulge the finding of the panel�.
