AGARTALA, April 28 - The BJP-IPFT Government in Tripura has been working towards improving the work culture in government offices.
As part of the mission, the Government has introduced a biometric attendance system at the Civil Secretariat and installed CCTVs and wifi systems to ensure optimum output.
Out of the total 1,175 employees at the Civil Secretariat, biometric attendance has been completed for about 800 employees and attendance data for the remaining staff will be done soon, said a top official seeking anonymity.
All the floors, terraces, courtyards and other important areas of the Civil Secretariat have already been covered under CCTC surveillance. Except the ground floor, all the floors of the Secretariat have also been covered been with wifi systems.
The official said all district magistrate (DM) and Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDM) offices would also be covered with biometric attendance systems along with other electronic surveillance systems.
The State Government has also initiated the process of installing biometric attendance systems and CCTV coverage in all Tripura Bhavans spread across the country.
Earlier, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has exhorted the government officials to go on field visits to monitor welfare activities. �If this is done, the output of government schemes will more,� he said while speaking on a programme to mark the Civil Services Day at the Prajna Bhavan here on Friday.
Deb added best governance could be provided to the people if administrative officers, irrespective of their positions, perform their duties properly.
It is the duty of bureaucrats to implement whatever plans are chalked out by the Government, he said while speaking at the programme. Outlining the State Government�s vision, the Chief Minister said, �We want that the welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi Government should reached the people�s doorsteps.�
