Tripura gears up to tackle swine flu

AGARTALA, Feb 27 � Though there is no Swine Flu case yet in Tripura, the State Health establishment has geared up by taking all possible precautionary measures.

Two surveillance teams have already been put in place in Agartala Airport and Chouraibari Check Gate, entry points to the State to keep watch on suspected Swine Flu patients.

Besides, isolation wards have already been established at Agartala Govt Medical College and GBP Hospital, said National Health Mission�s State Director Sandeep N Mahatme here on Friday.

The Centre has sent some 1,000 Oseltamivir to the State Government to deal with possible outbreak of seasonal influenza H1N1 virus and these have been sent to the treatment centres. Swine Flu has so far claimed 965 lives in the country triggering alarm bells.
