Tripura employees demand 7th Central Pay panel scales

By Correspondent

AGARTALA, April 22 - All Tripura Nationalist Left Democratic Employees Forum, a conglomeration of employees organisations has demanded for implementation of 7th Central Pay Commissions recommendations.

We have already given a representation before Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan seeking his intervention for implementation of 7th CPC for State Government employees, Samar Roy, Forum convener said here on Saturday.

He made it clear that the Forum would give any representation to the Pay and Pension Review Committee even if the government extends timing of submission of views/ suggestions.

As per the notification, submission of views/suggestion in regard to the revision of pay scales of the State Government and pension is scheduled to expire on April 22.

The Left Front Government has changed the convention of revision of pay structure of government employees and pensioners. In 2008, the government constituted Pay Review Committee for revision of pay scales and pension which deprived the employee community as a whole, he alleged.

Expressing anger over the role of the State Government, Roy said the budgetary allocation of Rs 600 crore would be a small amount to provide a decent pay structure and pension. Pending DA has already crossed 40 per cent and this is unlikely to be merged with the revised pay scales and pension as outlay is very less, he pointed out.

Roy also raised a finger at the committee where a Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officer was made the secretary.
