Tripura CM slams BJP Govt

AGARTALA, May 2 - Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has lashed out at the BJP-led government for resorting to money, muscle power and communal card to win elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

�A party that secured only 31 per cent of votes of the Lok Sabha elections has formed governments in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and is now perpetrating atrocities on people ; the poll outcomes in Manipur and Goa showed the weaknesses of Congress in the arena of real politics but this cannot go on forever� said he.

Sarkar, the CPI (M) politburo member was addressing a gathering in front of Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan to mark the May Day yesterday.

The Chief Minister said that a party was dreaming of coming to power in Tripura but that dream would never come to true as people are happy with the Marxist rule.

He asserted that during the past three years the people of the country have realised who their real class enemy and class fried is and will throw out the anti-people government in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Sarkar said that despite all conspiracies the eighth Left Front government would be formed. The rally was also addressed by party MP Shankar Prasad Dutta , CITU president Pijush Nag, Power Minister Manik Dey.

Meanwhile, CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury is scheduled to visit the state to address a rally of Students� Federation of India (SFI), the student wing of the ruling party. The rally would be held in Belonia of South Tripura district on May 15. The visit assumes significance at a time when the BJP is trying increase its footprint in the state.
