Tridib felicitated in usa

GUWAHATI, Jan 7 � Tridib Duvarah, secretary of Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) and joint secretary of Table Tennis Federation of India was honoured by India Community Centre (ICC), California USA for his contribution to the game of table tennis in India and Assam.

The felicitation plaque and memento was given away to Duvarah at a glittering function organized by ICC at San Francisco by Mark Johnson, secretary Bay Area Table Tennis Federation, USA and Bruce Liu, director of the Federation.

It is worth mentioning that ICC, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, is the largest non-profit Indo-American Community Center in North America. Their mission is to provide community, cultural, social and recreational programs that help to build and strengthen the community. At the same time they provide essential resources, educational and enrichment opportunities to 150,000 Indo-Americans residing in the Bay Area as well as the greater American population.

A winter TT coaching camp had been organized by ICC at California from December 20 to 31 last year under the guidance of ITTF. On this special occasion, the governing body of ICC felicitated Tridib Duvarah for his contribution to the game. As a special gesture ICC had invited Tridib Duvarah and his wife Panchali Baruch Duvarah and had sponsored their air tickets and borne all expense for this trip.

It ay be recalled that Tridib Duvarah had been the manager of the Indian TT team for the past six World Championships and has visited Germany, China, France, Japan, Russia and Holland with the team. As a player he had visited USA, UK, Qatar, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sweden to represent the country, stated an ATTA release.
