Tributes paid to martyred Assam BSF personnel

DIBRUGARH, April 5 - The district administration today paid tributes to martyr Assistant Sub-Inspector Bipul Borah of the BSF. Borah was martyred among four in an encounter with Naxals in Chattisgarh on April 4. His mortal remains were brought by air for his home in Gaurisagar, Dikhowmukh in Sivasagar.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Dipu Deka paid tribute to the departed soul on behalf of the district administration after the mortal remains landed at Dibrugarh Airport here today.

Ann Service adds from Sivasagar: Dhanekhona Goan in Dikhowmukh, 20 km from here was immersed in mourning as the news of the death of its valiant son Bipul Borah, one of the four BSF personnel who laid down their lives fighting Maoists in Chhattisgarh yesterday reached the village. Hundreds of villagers rushed to his home and condoled his death. Son of late Sarupai Borah, Bipul Borah, was a promising young man from the village. He leaves behind a son, a daughter, his wife and host of relatives.
