Tributes paid to ITBP martyr

GUWAHATI, Oct 21 - The 33rd Bn Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) paid tribute to ITBP martyr, the late constable Bibhuti Roy, who had laid down his life during the rescue operations in the Uttarakhand disaster in June 2013.

The IAF MI-17 V5 helicopter he was on board was on a rescue mission from Gauchar to Guptkashi and Kedarnath and it crashed north of Gaurikund on the return leg from Kedarnath.

During the tribute-paying ceremony held at his native village�Charaikhola of Golokganj in Dhubri district on October 17 � troops of the 33rd Bn ITBP led by Pushpender Rathore, Assistant Commandant, visited the local high school where the martyr had studied and garlanded his portrait.

Later, a cultural programme on patriotism by the 33Bn ITBP was organised. Rathore in his address lauded the heroics of Roy and urged the students to inculcate values for becoming good and responsible human beings and contribute to nation building.
