GUWAHATI, Oct 13 - Assam Science Society at a condolence meeting held here today paid tributes to environmental scientist Prof Gurudas Agarwalla who died at Rishikesh on Oct 11 on the 111th day of his indefinite fast for conservation of the Ganga.

Prof Agarwalla, who forced the government to revoke its decision to block the natural flow of the Bhagirathi in 2013 and played a major role in preparation of the legislation for preventing water contamination, made immense contribution towards making the people aware of the issues concerning environment conservation.
