Tributes paid to Dr Ambedkar

GUWAHATI, Dec 6 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal led the State in paying rich tributes to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 61st death anniversary today.

In a function held on the occasion on the premises of the Assam Secretariat, Sonowal offered floral homage at the lifesize statue of the architect of the Indian Constitution. Chief Secretariat VK Pipersenia, Additional Chief Secretary Rajiv Bora and a host of other dignitaries were present at the function.

Officers and staff of the Northeast Frontier Railway Construction Organisation also observed the death anniversary of Dr Ambedkar on its office premises here.

Ajit Pandit, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction-1) of NF Railway paid homage to Dr Ambedkar by lighting a lamp and offering floral tributes. Other officers and staff also paid their respect by offering floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar.
