Tributes paid to Atal Bihari Vajpayee

UDALGURI, Aug 17 - The Udalguri district committee of All Bodo Students� Union (ABSU) today organised a shraddhanjali programme here at Udalguri town to pay floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India who breathed his last at AIIMS, New Delhi yesterday at 5.05 pm at the age of 93.

The programme was initiated with half mast national tricolour hoisting followed by floral tributes to the departed soul. Ratendra Daimary, president of Udalguri district committee of the students� union anchored the whole programme including the condolence meeting held to this effect.

Nabin Malla Boro, vice principal of Udalguri HS school, Dr Luke Daimari, principal of Udalguri College, Prodeep Kumar Daimari, ex deputy chief of erstwhile BAC and general secretary of United People�s Party (Liberal), Sarat Chandra Basumatary, former vice president of Assam State Committee of BJP, Damodar Das, former president of BJP, Udalguri district committee, Lucas Daimari, subject teacher, Dipen Boro, vice president of ABSU Central Committee and R Sapkota, senior media person of Udalguri district spoke on the life and activities of late Vajpayee and also recited some of his poems on the occasion.
