JORABAT, Dec 12 - Members of the All Assam Students� Union (AASU) and few other tribal organisations today paid tribute to the victims of Jogdal mass murder, on its 8th anniversary.
The victims were killed in cold blood on December 12, 2009. Earthen lamps were lit and floral tribute was paid as a homage to the victims of the mass murder.
Besides prominent leaders from these organisations, Abhajan Doloi, the victims� elder brother and an inhabitant of the Jogdal village, was present in the programme.
People present in the programme demanded that investigation into the case be speeded up and all the persons involved in the crime be punished.
A public meeting was also held by 13 different organisations on Monday in Sonapur�s Tricem Hall to discuss ways to hasten the process of investigation into the incident. The meeting was attended by RTI activist Dulal Bora, leaders of the organisations and residents of Dimoria.
