GUWAHATI, May 31 � A total of 14 retired employees of The Assam Tribune group of newspapers were felicitated under the aegis of the Assam Tribune Employees� Union (ATEU) on Friday.
The meeting held on the occasion at the Tribune Sports Club was presided over by ATEU president Saifuddin Ahmed. ATEU general secretary Dugdharam Kalita explained the objective of the meeting.
The retired employees were Ananta Baishya, Girindra Deka, Dwijen Chandra Sarma, Ramesh Chandra Das, Gauranga De, Lankeswar Deka, Prabodh Bardoloi, Srikanta Kalita, Satyabrata Mahanta, Dhireswar Sarma, Arun Kalita, Jogen Saikia, Munin Sarma and Om Prakash Singh.
The retired employees recollected their long association with the Tribune group, and lauded the role of the ATEU in upholding its ideals of ethical journalism.
