MUSHALPUR, April 2 - 63-Chapaguri (ST) LAC in Baksa district is likely to witness a triangular contest between Thaneswar Basumatary of the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF), Hitesh Basumatary of United People's Party (UPP) and Sujan Das of the Janagosthiya Oikya Mancha.

The BPF candidate and the former MLA has been carrying out massive campaigning in the constituency with the party president Hagrama Mohilary and other heavyweight campaigners of the party to woo the voters with the party slogan of peace, harmony and development of all on equal footing to realise the vision of a model BTC.

Sitting MLA Hitesh Basumatary who had won the last assembly election as a BPF candidate and is contesting this election as a UPP candidate is not lagging behind either in respect of campaigning. He has been trying to woo the voters with issues like corruption and misrule of Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF and is trying to convince even the non-Bodos that there is no place of Bodo-non-Bodo issues in his politics.

On the other hand, the Janagosthiya Oikya Mancha candidate Sujan Das has been trying to take the advantage of the wave of change in BTAD politics since the last Lok Sabha and BTC elections.
