GUWAHATI, Sept 19 � The All Assam Motor Transport Association has once again rued the State Government and the State transport department�s �indifferent attitude� towards their demand to increase the fares of all commercial vehicles.
A chakka bandh has been called by the Association from 6 am of September 21 to 6 pm of September 22 to increase the fares in view of the increased prices of petroleum products.
�Our confrontation is not with the common people, who are badly affected by the strike. But, we do not have another option as all other efforts to draw government�s attention have failed,� Pradeep Das, secretary general of the association said.
