Training programme on adventure tourism ends

JALUKBARI, March 3 - The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) organized a business incubation training on �adventure tourism� at IIE for the youths interested in adventure tourism in NER. Organized with the technical support of Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA) and sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, the training programme successfully ended today,

The objective of the training was to orient and train prospective youths on adventure tourism sector in NER so that they can set up their own business ventures and generate employment.

The programme was fully residential and practical training covered areas in and around Guwahati rock fields and water sports points. This incubation training included mountaineering, basic rock climbing, jungle safari, jungle camping and water sports etc. Apart from practical training, management topics such as introduction of adventure tourism, adventure tourism as a business venture, entrepreneurship, business communication, risk management, operation management and legal formalities as well as liability for setting up an adventure tourism enterprise, were also covered.

Speaking on the occasion, Hemanta Rabha, Senior Project Officer, IIE welcomed the participants and stressed on the effective participation and cooperation of the participants. He also expressed his gratitude to Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA) for initiating such a commendable effort.

Keynote address was delivered by Er WR Singh, Course Director and AFM of IIE. He highlighted the success of the training programme organized by IIE, Guwahati with the technical support of Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA) and spoke about the importance of such incubation training programmes for the development of skilled workforce of the region. He also congratulated the participants for successful completion of the training programme and encouraged them to start their own business ventures.

A panel discussion was also organized today to identify and finalize business ventures in the field of adventure tourism. Participants also shared their experiences about the programme. Most of them spoke about the boost in their confidence level and thanked IIE and Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA) for providing them the opportunity to get trained. They showed the urge to work and gradually develop their own business ventures.
