Training for teachers held

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, April 4 - The Training for Teachers (T4T) of the International Award for Young People (Duke of Edinburgh) held at the conference hall of Miles Bronson Residential School here concluded today.

The three-day workshop was conducted by Rob Oliphant, Regional Manager, Asia-Pacific, from Australia.

This programme for teachers was aimed at capacity building of potential leaders to run the award programme in their region smoothly and confidently.

It will also help promote global cohesiveness and camaraderie among the award leaders representing different parts of the world through exchange of ideas, views and cultural ethos.

The programme was first introduced in the United Kingdom in 1956 as the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The aim was to motivate young people aged between 14 and 25 years to become involved in self-development activities.
